UK TV Series Watchdog reveals costume fire story

Watchdog - a UK based consumer TV show aired a story about costumes and their dangers with fire. The story was highlighted after a TV celebrity - Claudia Winkleman, raised the issue following an accident involving her daughter who suffered severe burns. The program also shows a video clip where the TV presenters ask firefighters to demonstrate how quickly 3 different costumes catch fire and the rate of combustion. During some independent testing - the costumes were all within the safety parameters. This coverage significantly raised the profile of costume toy safety within the UK.
